For a long time, the way we handled bulk germicidal UV systems was pretty basic: you install them, set them, and basically hope for the best. By tracking power draw in real-time, we can see exactly how a bulb is holding up. Look, this isn’t about having a flashy screen to look at. It’s about the peace of mind that comes with knowing a bulb isn’t going to quit on you right in the middle of a critical sterilization cycle.
What’s actually changing?
Most UVC lamps just run on a fixed output. But when you’re dealing with a thousand bulbs, they don’t all behave the same. Some pull more power, some pull less, and that leads to “spotty” sterilization. By tossing in some current sensors and a gateway, we can see the actual wattage at every single socket. If the power signature starts to dip or spike? That’s your warning. It tells you the filament is wearing out or the ballast is about to give up the ghost.

There is a silver lining here for your power bill, too. You can spot those “energy leaks” where lamps are screaming at full power even when there’s nothing to sterilize. You can finally just dim them or set a schedule based on what you actually need. Now, there is a catch. Adding this gear means your electrical cabinet is going to be a bit more crowded. You’ve got more wires to run and data to manage. It’s a bit more work upfront. But it beats the hell out of the constant, expensive headache of unplanned maintenance.
Making life easier for the engineers
